Single, Studio or Roommate
I'd like to throw some question out to bloggers:
What was your living situation like during 1L year?
You recommend living in a Single (Studio, Roommate)?
As I see it:
The benefits of living in a single is the complete and total selfish control of time and space.
The benefits of living in a studio is all of the above, except in a smaller universe.
The benefits of living in an apartment with roommates is the cheaper price and good company.
Drawbacks of living in a single is the scary thought of having only books as your friend.
Drawbacks of living in a studio is the previous thought, except in a smaller universe.
Drawbacks of living in an apartment with roommates is the unpredictable nature and personalities of roommates, whom I've never met/lived with til' now.
So which would you choose under these circumstances?

no roommates here! i chose to live with myself for two primary reasons:
1. i have two puppies. after a former roommate "accidentally" let my 2 lb fluff ball out in the wild (& left for practice without even noticing!!! a neighbor found her and upon returning to the apt also found that my roommate had left the apartment with the door unlocked UGH). following this escapade, i vowed i would never have another roomate;
2. i'm 26 and i no longer think that saving $ with a roommate is worth it. among other reasons: i had to serve my last roommate to get her to finally pay her past due rent.
seriously, i don't need to deal with that. the $ i make teaching classes on the side covers the difference.

Not a 1L yet, but here are my thoughts anyways. Law school is stressful enough and roommates are a crap shoot, you might end up with good ones, they could eat up your time, stress you out, or worse.
We're not 18 anymore, I would get my own space. Of course, being married I don't have that option these days.
I think as far as 1 bedroom vs. studio goes it would depend on which city I was living in and how much rent costs. A 1 bedroom gives you more space so that on the rare ocassion that you have free time you can have a life and have people over. You also might not feel like you're crawling up the walls when all you have is 4 walls to look at.

It depends where you're going (where are you going?).
I am a 1L at NYU, and I had never lived in New York before this year. I chose to live with (2!) roommates to get to know more people at the school and enjoy the common (in)experience together.
It has worked out great for me. NYU students are already so independent and driven that distractions are usually not a problem. Worst case scenario: they live in the library. Then you have a single anyways.
Law school is not as stressful as everyone says, but it isn't as social either. Having a roommate is a great way to get to know your classmates...for better or worse.
I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Currently it sounds like Expression Engine is the best blogging
